O sport promotes fun, socialization and exciting the masses. But its role goes far beyond entertainment and sociocultural training. O football club, for example, exerts a solidarity function on and off the fields.

Argentine Lionel Messi, chosen five times as the best player in the world by FIFA, is responsible for creating the Leo Messi Foundation. The institution was created in 2007, in Argentina, with the aim of developing projects that promote access to education, health and sports, aimed at children and adolescents.

From 2018 onwards, the Leo Messi Foundation started to promote the campaign #Paralosvalientes, which seeks to collect 30 milhões de euros destined for the construction of the largest pediatric oncology center at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, in Barcelona.  

With the donation, it is expected to increase the number of cures for childhood cancer, supported by the development of research.

Leo Messi Foundation has support from Sportlink

In 2015 the Sports link, a company specializing in the manufacture of synthetic grass, started a partnership with the Leo Messi Foundation. Therefore, the negotiation involved the project to revitalize the lawn of a field in the community of Chandelier, neighborhood on the outskirts of Salvador (BA).
