Tranquility and Performance: Discover PaddleGrass

Padel, a sport that combines the speed of tennis with the strategy of squash, has conquered the world in recent years. And it's no coincidence: the dynamics of the matches, the accessibility and the guaranteed fun attract more and more fans. But, for the experience to be complete, the floor where the game takes place becomes fundamental, which is why after much study and testing we included PaddleGrass in our portfolio, a synthetic grass developed precisely for this sport.

Padel originated around 1890, when passengers on English ships tried to adapt the practice of tennis to the ship's space. Others say that the sport began to be practiced on land in 1924, when the American Frank Beal improvised some courts in New York's municipal parks and named the sport padel tennis. In Brazil, the sport only arrived in 1980, when Uruguayans and Argentines built the first court in the city of Jaguarão, a municipality located in the extreme south of Rio Grande do Sul. The first courts were made of clay: a packed earth, covered with a layer of tile or brick dust. This type of flooring is still common in Europe and South America, but synthetic lawns are gaining strength due to their benefits, since gravel is expensive to maintain: it is necessary to wet it, replace tile dust or brick and pass a “broom” constantly so that the court remains uniform.

Sportlink's PaddleGrass synthetic grass came to innovate in this modality: providing a level floor, as it has a blanket made up of many threads per square meter, it also provides a floor without holes that could interfere with the ball's trajectory: this contributes to a game fairer and more predictable, increasing player performance. Furthermore, it offers the ideal resistance for the movement of the ball, providing the desired speed for the padel style of play, allowing plays with greater control and precision. It also protects players' health by not requiring the use of pesticides and herbicides to control the growth of weeds.

Present on all our lawns, impact resistance and a non-slip surface are also present on padel grass! This guarantees a much longer useful life than natural grass, because it eliminates the need for irrigation, helping to preserve the environment and reduce maintenance costs.

Today present in more than 12 countries, Sportlink has knowledge in the latest technologies for the manufacture of synthetic grass, in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, opting for materials for the most diverse needs and technical requirements. Nothing better than being able to count on a company specialized in manufacturing synthetic sports grass projects.

Investing in PaddleGrass is investing in a product that features cutting-edge technology and innovation and an invitation to prepare yourself for intense games, for moments of pure emotion and to challenge your own limits. Come play with Sportlink, here resistance goes beyond sport!
